Independent Scrutiny

As Independent Scrutineer for the Partnership I act as a ‘critical friend’, supporting the partner organisations in developing their safeguarding responses. This is a continual process and behind the scenes I provide advice, make suggestions, arbitrate when needed, scrutinise activity and present my findings and ideas. I undertake specific pieces of work, looking at the effectiveness of safeguarding responses, e.g., multi-agency case file audits, and conduct research to help inform my recommendations.

I build relationships with staff across different organisations to support the work I do, and to ensure I secure a broad view of what is happening to safeguard children in Telford and Wrekin. It is a privilege to hold this role, working with the dedicated and committed professionals in Telford and Wrekin.
